Why are Weekends so Busy?!

I wish that we had one day where we could just sleep in and then do nothing for the entire day. Two things are standing in the way of that...kids in sports and house under construction.

Talan had baseball practice this morning, so I volunteered to take him since I had more things to pick up from the store. Janae decided to go with us, probably so she didn't have to help at home. 😝

Getting organized has been a little frustrating for me, because I have in my head exactly how I want to do things, but I then I can't find the right supplies to make it work! For example, I wanted to get trays that are not divided to put in my kitchen drawers to hold the array of tools I have collected over the years. I can't find anything remotely close to what I'm looking for. 😞 I also need some sort of a divider for my coookie sheets, cutting boards, etc. The cupboard is really skinny, so I can't find anything for that either. This is why I go to the store every day!

We got a few things we were looking for and then headed back to practice. It was nice to just sit and read for a bit without feeling guilty for not working on the house. 😁

Talan and Janae managed to get some pictures of the cars, crowds of people and traffic in Pigeon Forge.

Janae is also known to take selfies when I'm not looking. She gets this from Madi. Madi is famous for taking thirty ugly-face selfies at a time on my phone! Maybe I will share one some time, Madi. 😂

The workers came this morning and continued work. I'm hoping this is the last week! They got the can lighting installed in the kitchen. It's so nice and bright!

Jimmy also got more of the tiling finished in the bathroom, including the floor. It's going to be close to being finished when my mom and dad come on Wednesday!

Brett said at least they will have a nice place to sleep, if nothing else. 😊 I still have to decorate in there and finish my lamp shade, but at least the room is clean!

I got everything put away in the kitchen that Brett brought home from the storage unit, but I'm pretty sure there is more so I will wait to share that when it's finished.

After dinner, we headed to church. You would have thought this guy helped today. He was zonked before we were even out of Gatlinburg! I guess he did spend half the day building with Legos. 😁

Tonight was the first Saturday night service in the new sanctuary. It seems so much bigger! We are going to have to start going earlier to get a seat closer to the front. I'm not really a fan of having to watch the pastor on the big screen. 😂

Tonight we put more things in place. This is the fun part-trying to decide where to put everything! I ended up getting the mason jar caddy for my silverware. I put some stones in the bottom for a little color and height. I love it!

I found my cutting board that my sweet friend Aimee gave me. It looks perfect with our new wood trim!

We also FINALLY got this shelf hung in our bathroom. I've been tripping over it in my bedroom for weeks!

I walked by Janae's room and it is immaculate! It seems like it was just yesterday that she was stuffing every paper she brought home from school under her bed. She was a pack rat! Now she is a neat freak. I love it! She definitely gets that from my mom. 😀 Now the boys on the other hand...😑

Tomorrow I'm hoping we can tackle downstairs. Our new furniture should be here any day now and right now we have no room for it! One step at a time, I guess. 😊
