Recovery Day

Today was such an uneventful day, but it felt good to finally have one of those! The Fireflies game lasted 14 innings last night. Fourteen!!! It lasted so long that they decided to postpone the fireworks until tonight and have double fireworks. Boo! We were really looking forward to them and stayed the entire game to watch them! The game did not get over until 12:15! That means that we were at the park for nearly nine hours. That's a long day for anybody, especially kids! Everyone slept until almost 9:00 this morning though, and that felt good.

We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express & Suites, and you really cannot go wrong with those. They have the best breakfast selections. The kids especially love the automatic pancake machine. Have you seen those? You press a button and it cooks pancakes and rolls them right onto your plate. The kids want to get one for Christmas. 😂 I was just excited that they had ham. Nobody ever has ham! Yum yum.

On the way home, Brett got some quiet time. He also got some pictures. Shame, shame. Taking pictures while he was driving!
Poor Easton is back there somewhere next to Janae. It looks like she had him squished against the window!

Sleeping in the front seat is not comfortable whatsoever! My neck always hurts for like a week afterwards. I will not complain though, because at least I didn't have to do any driving on this trip!

Poor Easton had to go straight to practice when we got home. Let's just say he was not excited about it! I don't blame him though. It's Sunday and it's Labor Day weekend. Was practice really necessary? Brett said he had a great practice though, so he must have put all that anger to good use. 😁

While they were gone, we spent almost an hour face timing with my niece, Madi. I miss that girl so much! She is a freshman playing Varsity volleyball. I'm so proud of her! It makes me sad that I can't watch her play. 😢 At least we can face time though. That makes her seem not so far away!

I also finished up on the paint in the kitchen. I love this color the more and more I look at it. Once we get the new cabinets and appliances in, it will feel like a new house. Only a few more days! 😁

Tomorrow is the last day that Splash Country is open, so we are planning on taking the kids in the morning. I'm sure it will be packed since it's also a holiday! Not to mention there is a big car show going on! There are two more this month, and we just found out that the schools dismiss an hour early on Fridays because of them. I guess the traffic gets absolutely crazy. Looks like we'll be ordering Papa John's and having movie night at home on those days!
