Just an Ordinary Day

Brett was on volleyball duty last night, but he didn't do a very good job at it! He took exactly two pictures, which were basically identical!
As I said yesterday, Janae missed the JV game because of me. Varsity split in the other two games. Janae is improving every day and getting more aggressive. Brett said she had a really good practice today and the coach noticed too. 😊

Today I got my first package since we moved and it was so exciting! I ordered these amazing alcohol markers and coloring books from HSN last week and I have anxiously been waiting for them. I was thrilled to see the mail lady come bright and early this morning, at 8:00! Our mail lady in LaOtto was terrible and grouchy... Anyone will tell you that! This lady was a gem! She only backed up part of the driveway because she wasn't sure if she could drive on the dirt side and started walking the package up to me. What a dear! Of course, I met her halfway because I was so excited to open this box. (Okay, I have to admit that I was only excited after Brett ensured me it was a woman coming up the driveway.😉) I know, like I need ONE more craft item. 😁 But these will be perfect while I'm waiting in the car rider line to pick up the kids. That's what I told Brett anyway and he fell for it! 😂

After I tested out my markers and read my book for a little bit, I decided to go on the hunt for lamp shades once again. I stopped at Old Time Pottery while I was out and had to take a picture of these men sitting outside the store. There were two different men sitting there when I went in. Apparently that's where the husbands hang out while the wives shop. I'm making Brett come with me next time! 😊

I think I may have finally found a tile I like for my kitchen counter backsplash. It's 10x16 so we can do two rows of it all the way around. Once we get the countertops installed tomorrow I hope to know for sure if this is the one. I've been looking at tile for months! 😭

I picked up Panda Express for us for lunch and this was my fortune. Sounds good to me! 😁 Now to find those friends...

Beautiful views at the school once again today. The sky has been so blue! It's been pushing 100 for a few days and we have had zero rain. My poor plants. 😑

I was right about coloring while we waited. I finished a whole page for Janae's wall!
These markers are a dream. If you like to color you must get them! 😁

When I asked about lunch, Easton said "Why don't you just look at the lunch menu so you don't have to ask us every day?" 😑 They said they had chicken and I asked them what kind, meaning grilled, fried, etc. Talan said "Legs and ribs." I'm not exactly sure what a chicken rib is, but it doesn't sound very meaty! 😂

While we were in the car, Talan hit Easton and Easton started dramatically crying. We ignored him and he said "Doesn't anyone hear me dying back here?!" Then he tried to not smile, but he didn't do a very good job of it!

We went to the park while we waited for Janae's practice to get over. Talan was pouting and decided to read instead of taking batting practice with Brett.

While we were there, my phone rang and it was for Talan! He gave my phone number to his friend Jayden at school. As if I don't get enough calls to screen! 😂

Easton was in a great mood and hit for a long time.

After Talan got out of his mood, he did a great job too.

After we picked Janae up from volleyball, we went home and were locked out of the house. We don't even have a key, just a key pad and the code would not work!  We have ONE window that opens in our house... The tiny kitchen window. By some miracle, it was unlocked and Easton fit through it, managing somehow to not even touch my new sink! That was pretty much the excitement for our day. Each day is getting more and more ordinary. 😊 But as long as I keep having friends send me messages to keep blogging, I will keep blogging! 😘

  1. I think there is great need for a hide-a-key!!!

I think that you need to send me the link for the markers!

I love the updates about Janae! Volleyball has always been my game and I love playing it! Please ask Brett to get a few more shots next time. 😂

Maybe you can visit soon and go to some of Janae's volleyball games for me. Next week we have two five-hour nights of it! 😭
