Volleyball is Here!

Today did not start out so great for me. I was up almost all night with stabbing pains in my stomach and back. I thought maybe it was a kidney stone. Still not sure yet, but whatever it was kept me up until 3 am, when I finally decided to get in the hot tub. After that I was able to relax a little and got a few hours of sleep before it was time to get the kids up and ready for school. I felt much better after I woke up!

After we took the kids to school, we had to take the van to the car shop. The emergency break got stuck on when we first got here. We've been going everywhere together in Brett's truck, so it wasn't an issue, but now with all three kids in sports, we decided we better have it fixed. We dropped it off then walked into Gatlinburg. Brett passed out his business cards and introduced himself at a bunch of businesses in town, while I got to window shop. 😁

We had lunch at Subway and ate upstairs. There were some pretty good views up there! I've never seen a Subway with an upstairs and I don't think many people know it's there because it was empty!

Here is my handsome lunch date. Can you tell he just loves getting his picture taken? 😂

After lunch, we walked to some more shops. We saw this sign and Brett said "Upstairs restaurant." I was impressed and asked him how he knew that meant upstairs.
Turns out he was looking at this sign that actually said Upstairs Restaurant. Hahahaha I'm such a dork. 😁

As we headed back home, I had to snap a picture of this little house on the tree.
We pass it every day at the bottom of the hill and I just think it's so cute! I half expect a chipmunk or squirrel to come walking out that door.

I was exhausted when we got back, so I took a quick nap while Brett worked. Then we went to pick up the van. This place is truly what I picture when I think of Tennessee hillbillies. 😂 There are so many cars in their lot that you can't find a place to park. This is just one small section of their parking lot.
They had a sign inside that said you had 5 days to pick up your car once they called you to tell you it was finished, and then you had to pay $30 a day to park it there. They must be making thousands of dollars, because there were probably a hundred cars and they looked like they had been there a while!

We got to the school early so we were at the front of the car rider  line.
We were at the top and the line wrapped around down the hill. A little bit different than the car rider line at Busco! 😁

I knew the boys would be starving so I packed them dinner to eat before Janae's volleyball game. They love their fruit and always eat it first!

We went in for the game and found that prices were not too bad. $3 for adults and $1 for kids. They also had some interesting choices at the concession stand! Talan thought I was taking his picture but I was really trying to get the beans and cornbread sign in there. 😂 Gotta have something interesting to blog about, right?

It's kind of funny, we are still the eagles! They have a REALLY nice gym. Unlike our former gym, it's freezing in this one. I have to remember to dress warmer next time. I may even have to break out my church blankie! As if Janae isn't already embarrassed by me enough. 😁 She would just love that!

We didn't know until we got there, but there were FIVE teams playing and Janae had four matches, with the best of three sets for every match. That was FOUR hours of volleyball. On a school night! The good news is, they only have matches on Tuesdays. My ADD can't handle any more than that!

Janae played on JV and Varsity and did an awesome job! She has greatly improved from last year and fits in well with her team.

Talan was glad to have his friend Ethen there for the long night.

Janae's team ended up winning against 3 of the 4 teams. Not too bad for their first time out there! We will definitely need a break tomorrow night though. We were all exhausted by the end of the night!
