Day 2

This morning when we woke up, Brett said "Why don't people ever take pictures of Day 2?" We soon found out why.

Brett went in to wake Janae up and she did not budge. Then we heard the boys' alarm going off downstairs. I went in to wake Janae up and she said "Leave me alone. I'm not going." The boys' alarm was STILL going off. Brett went downstairs to wake them up. Talan came bounding happily up the steps and to the table for breakfast. Okay, good. Maybe this morning wouldn't be that bad after all.

I got everyone's breakfast ready and on the table. Still no Easton or Janae. I went downstairs and offered to carry Easton up. He wanted Brett. Sigh. I went back upstairs and tried, once again, to wake up Janae. Still no movement. I uncovered her and turned on a nightlight. She yelled for Brett. Mission accomplished. 😂

There was bickering at the table and in the bathroom. All. Morning. Which was only about a half hour, really, but felt like an eternity. Yesterday I was sad to see them go. Today, not so much. 😁  At least on the ride to school they were good and there was no complaining about going. And this view from the school brightened my day right up:
There was fog between the mountains and it was just gorgeous. These views continue to take my breath away day after day.

It is cooler today than it has been, only 78 degrees. It feels cooler than that at our house up in the trees, and I could not get warm. I felt chilled to the bone! Then I remembered we have a hot tub!
That did the trick and was so relaxing, especially after the morning we had!

Today is the day I have been most excited about since moving down here. It is new carpet day! Unfortunately, it is pouring down rain now, so there isn't anything for me to do outside. They have every bedroom torn apart, and the furniture is all in the two living areas, so there isn't any room to move! So my day is going to be spent cuddled up in a chair. I have things I want to get done today though, so I am hoping this rain clears up quickly!

It did clear up a little in the afternoon and I was able to get some painting done on a shelf for the bathroom. Then it was time to go pick up the boys from school.
They had another great day at school. Lots of new friends to tell me about! They had pizza for lunch and they were surprised that the pieces were triangle-shaped with three round pepperonis. They are used to rectangular pieces with chopped pepperonis, which they never liked. I am beyond thrilled that they are enjoying the school lunches!

We checked out the progress of the carpet when we got home. This was Janae's room during the process:
And then after! Now it really feels like home. I don't feel like I need to wear shoes anymore, which is good because I am used to ALWAYS taking my shoes off in anyone's house!

Here's our little staircase:

And Talan enjoying his new carpet in his room!
After a few hours of sweeping up carpet remnants and putting everything back together in the rooms, it's now snuggle time with my boys. 😍
