The Unpacking Continues

Things are starting to get more "normal" around here, so I don't have a ton to share. 😔 Cali is spending her last few minutes on her bed, because we're moving it and setting it up. I just missed getting a picture of her fast asleep on her back with her legs up in the air.

Must be nice to be able to sleep and bathe all in one place! 😁

My day today consisted of a catch-up nap, cooking lunch for the hubster, making a lasagne for dinner, and continuing to unpack. Nothing exciting or adventurous at all! 😞

The clouds were really thick after school, but it never did rain.

We saw a sign for a park on our way home, so we decided to drive by. It's near the high school, so we think these are the practice fields and track. It's such a beautiful area! There was also a small playground and picnic tables, so we are going to bring the kids here for a picnic and to practice ball sometime.

There is also a community center and library up there, so we will have to check those out and see what kinds of programs they have going.

Of course, Brett wanted to find the baseball diamond. Can you imagine playing baseball with these views in front of you?!

As a big baseball fan, I was interested to see that the bleachers have roofs over them! No sunburns or wet heads while we watch baseball. Yay!

The football field is amazing. It looks like a field out of a movie, I think! We were going to go to the game last week, but it was raining. We wouldn't have minded too much, but the kids would have whined and made it not worth going. Haha They play at home again this Friday night, so I'm crossing my fingers for nice weather!

After we got home I worked on sorting things again. I have several memory totes (okay, like five or six... Brett has one 😂) and I spent the evening looking through one and trying to decide what to do with things. I came across several treasures that I just had to keep.

The first is this sweet senior picture of my dear friend from church youth group, Marci. I think I was only in eighth grade when she graduated from high school, but she was so good to me. We hung out a lot before she graduated and she took me so many places. I have such good memories of hanging out with Marci, so of course I am keeping this gem! 😊

Another keeper is this New Kids on the Block sticker album. I vividly remember collecting stickers when I was in about fifth grade. They came in packs like baseball cards, and you never knew which ones you would get. I'm so sad I never got them all collected! I'm a NKOTB fan for life, so this will definitely be sticking around, too. Poor Brett. 😂

The decorating is coming along nicely. We still have some trim to add at the bottom of this new wall, but other than that it's now complete!

Here's a little peek at the staircase. It's not complete yet, but I have a few things there.

It's hard to believe this is what it looked like before we closed up the bathroom door. You wouldn't even know there was a door there now!

And I like Brett's deer in the stairwell so much better than that old chair. Never thought I would say that! Haha I did decide to keep the chair for decoration on the porch with a flower pot on it. Now to figure out how to keep all of my flowers from dying...😂
