Our First Tennessee Birthday!

Today we got to celebrate Brett's birthday, our first family birthday in Tennessee! The kids woke up happy today. Thank goodness! 😂 We got Brett hiking socks and waterproof hiking boots. Now we just need a free minute to go hiking again!

After we dropped the kids off at school, we went to the pancake place at the bottom of our hill and then relaxed in the hot tub for a few minutes before he had to work.

I needed a few things from the store, so I decided to go to Walmart in Sevierville. It only takes about 20 minutes to get there now that the summer tourist season has died down a bit. I finally decided on a comforter for the guest bedroom. I can't wait to get it decorated!

I decided, since it's Brett's birthday, to get him Panda Express for lunch. Yum yum. He needs to have more birthdays! 😂

After lunch, I tidied up in the boys' room and got their clothes all hung up. I'm jealous of their closet. It's huge! I hung up almost all of their shirts and you can barely even see them when they're pushed to the side!

I had made the curtains for their closet back in Indiana for their Route 66 themed room, and they work here too!
They have a lot of little random toys, so we are thinking about putting some kind of shelves with totes or baskets in the center there. If you have any great closet organization that you love, please share!

Our bathroom is almost finished! I am in love with the glass panel. No door, no shower curtain...just one piece of glass! 😍
The toilet, light and vanity are now in place too. It's all coming together exactly as I had envisioned it!
My mirror that I painted last week is too big to be centered under the light, so I am still on the hunt for the perfect mirror! I guess that one will have to go in my bedroom because I love it! 😔

Brett was finally able to go with me to pick up the boys. That meant more picture-taking for me. They look like they aren't embarrassed, don't they? 😂 For real though, they were waving like crazy at us when they saw us pull around the corner. I just couldn't get a good picture!

They were all smiles again today. They have made a lot of friends and like their teachers. Today Talan said there are 17 kids in his class. On Monday he said 25, then yesterday he said 23, and now 17. Brett said, "By the end of next week, you'll be the only student!" 😂😂😂

Janae was also grinning from ear to ear when we picked her up from volleyball. She is going to be in advanced math, and there are only eight kids in that class. I think that will be really good for her.
I am also shocked that she has made a bunch of friends already too. Not because she's not friendly, but because she's so shy! I'm really proud of her for coming out of her shell!

We were planning on going to the Gatlinburg-Pittman vs Pigeon Forge high school football game tonight, but it was raining most of the night. We decided to get more boxes out of the storage unit and eat ice cream for Brett's birthday instead. 😁

We are really making progress now. It's so fun putting things together. Most of the house is still too messy to show, but I got the bed in the guest room made. I love how it brightened the room!

Now it's snuggle time with the boys, some Olympics and bed!
