Baseball, Continued

This morning the kids slept in and I was able to get some work around the house done. One thing I don't like about the church services here is that they are all the same on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. So, since we went on Wednesday, it would be the same service this morning. 😞 I'm hoping they have small groups so we can get connected and start making some friends. Tonight is the orientation dinner for Janae, so hopefully we can meet some people there.

Since the boys slept in Janae's room, I was able to get their room picked up and organized. I did a first coat of paint on their closet, and then it was time to fix lunch... Barbecue chicken and potatoes on the grill. Yum, yum. 😊 Our realtor bought us a new grill this summer since we let him and some friends stay at our house for free. Wasn't that so nice of him?! We love it and have used it quite a bit already.

After lunch, we headed to Easton's first baseball practice. It was sprinkling a little bit on our way. Still a gorgeous view though!
Easton jumped in with the rest of the team right away. He didn't seem one bit nervous!

We weren't sure how long the practice was supposed to last, but it started at 1:30 so we figured 3:30 at the latest. At 4:00, they were still going strong! We had to leave to go to the orientation dinner for Janae at church. Now we know for next time that all of us do not need to go to his practices! 😂

We raced home to get ready for the dinner and the sky looked like this:
We only got a few sprinkles though! We hardly ever get any rain up at our house right now because of the trees, so I (or the kids!) always have to water my plants. I'm not used to that, and if you know me well, you know I can kill a cactus. 😀

Here's me and my honey before the dinner:

It was really good and we really like the youth director. We visited with another couple at our table, so maybe we have made our first friends! Janae hung out with their daughter, Sadie, who will be in sixth grade. Janae is unsure about the whole thing, but you all know how shy she is! We think she will enjoy it once she gets into it. Her first time going will be Tuesday night, so please pray for her!

We're trying to get into a routine for school, since it starts on Wednesday, so it's early to bed tonight! I say that, but I'll still probably stay up until midnight watching the Olympics! 😁
