My Little Painter

Now that we're almost finished with all of the painting, Easton has decided that he wants to help! The boys' room is the last bedroom that needs painted, so maybe that's why he wants to help. 😊

Brett said he is a really good painter. He thinks it's because he's very particular about things. Now Talan on the other hand... He paints like he writes. 😂 He didn't get a drop on him...until he backed into the wall. With his arms and hands too! Haha
Boy was he excited to get that paint on him. I was watching the Olympics and he ran out to show me. The best part was that he asked if he had to take a shower. 😊 Silly boy.

This is how we do breakfast during the summer at our house:
Talan said "You better not put that on your blog, Mom!" I think he was kidding. 😉 I didn't get a picture, but we have reached a milestone! I came up the stairs and Janae was sitting at the kitchen table waiting on her oatmeal in the microwave. After 12 years, she has finally learned how to get her own breakfast!!!! Woo hoo! 😂 She was also reading the newspaper. Soon she will be drinking coffee! 😁 When I showed her the pictures of the boys, she said "Hey! Easton ate in my room?!" Oops!

Today we went to the Sevierville Community Center to get the boys registered for fall baseball. After we got them signed up, we asked for directions to the diamonds. The lady told us to go out the doors, take a left at the stop sign, go thru the next stop sign, take a left at the next stop sign, go thru two more stop signs, take another left, then another, then it would be on the right (or something like that 😂). Easton said "That's a lot of lefts, rights and stop signs!" She might as well have been speaking French because I had no idea where she was directing us to. Between my poor memory and lack of sense of direction, I can get lost walking down to the mailbox. Of course, Brett and Talan remembered exactly how to get there. Thank goodness for my boys! 😊

The park is really nice. There are several baseball diamonds, tennis courts, a pool with two big slides, a nice playground and walking trails. Here's one of the baseball diamonds:

And a few views on our drive back home:

And the fam:

Haha we're dorks! We have so much fun on our car rides. It sure is going to be boring once the kids start school next week!

They had the kids' vaccination records finished today so we were able to get them registered for school.
They will still be the eagles! 😍
It is such a beautiful school and we all love the principal. She is a wonderful Christian woman, and you can tell she really loves what she does. The secretary we talked to today, Ms. Doris, was very sweet too. I told her that Doris is my grandma's name and she told the kids she would answer to Grandma too. 😊
Look at those mountain views! I don't know how anyone can concentrate with those out the windows! 😁

While we were out, they were making more progress at the house. Most of the bathroom floor is down.
The shower is coming along nicely too. I love it. Have I said that yet? 😁
They have also started getting the wood trim up in the bedrooms. This is really making them look like they go with the rest of the house. This is the boys' room. It was kind of gross before, but fresh paint and wood trim have helped a ton. Once we get the new carpet it will be even better!

After dinner we stopped at Ogle's Furniture in Sevierville. This place is AWESOME. So much fun stuff to look at. Our salesperson, Angie, is a sweetheart and remembered us from when we visited a month ago! She said Brett looks like her nephew. 😊

We had just enough time to order this gorgeous piece. Anyone care to guess what I'm using this for? 😁😁😁

We enjoyed the church service again tonight. We have an orientation dinner for Janae on Sunday night to introduce her to the youth program. She is nervous, so please say a little prayer for her! The boys have each enjoyed their classes. Talan even made a friend already!

Finally, here are some photos of the beautiful mountain views after church. I really want to get a good camera so I can capture the beauty of them!
