Fun with My Boys

Since we have less than a week until school starts, I decided to take the boys to Dollywood. They wanted to ride the water rides, so we went prepared in our swimsuits.

We got to the park and it was not busy at all. One of the perks of having a gold pass is free parking. That saves us $12 each time we visit one of the parks! We usually choose to walk instead of riding the tram, but it was right by us and getting ready to leave so we hopped on.

At the entrance they have about twenty people trying to take family pictures that you can later purchase. I always choose to take mine for free. 😂

There are places throughout the park where you can pose for pictures. We weren't in any hurry so I could not resist this cute little nest.

We rode a few water rides and then we were hungry so we headed to get our favorite treat... cinnamon bread.

Another perk of having a gold pass is a 20% discount on all food and merchandise. That means we can get this yummy bread for just $5! Plus, the park gives out free water so that's not too bad for a snack for three! 😁

One really cool exhibit at Dollywood is the bald eagles. They also have a row of other birds and Talan found his bird. I have a special friend from church that I call Mama Sheila and the kids refer to her as Grandma Sheila. She has nicknamed each of her grandkids a bird, including my kids! Talan is her red-tailed hawk, Janae is her hummingbird and Easton is her killdeer.

Talan was so excited to find this red-tailed hawk and wanted me to send Sheila this photo right away. 😍

By the time we got home, I had a splitting migraine so I took a nap. When I woke up at 3:15, I asked Janae if she would walk down to the store on the corner with me, The Decorium. Every time I think about going to this store it is too late at night and they're closed. It was sooooo hot, so Brett offered to drop us off so we would only have half as far to walk. We drove down to the store, and wouldn't you know it, there was a sign on the door saying they were closing at 3:00 today. Just my luck! Maybe another day.

Since we were already out, we decided to make a quick stop at the storage unit. Of course we had to get some of Princess Janae's things. 😂 We also got some of my living room decor, so I was able to put some more things in place. It's starting to feel more like home every day!

After dinner, I worked on my curtain toppers some more. I am almost finished with them at last and hope to post a picture tomorrow! We got the boys' bedroom in order, and will hopefully get it decorated this weekend. Brett also started to take apart the dreaded pool table. That thing is such an eyesore and takes up so much of our downstairs, specifically my scrapbook space. 😑

We ended the evening with our first dip in the hot tub. Janae has been monitoring and adjusting the chemicals to make sure it was just right. That's a good chore for her! 😁
