Settling In

I almost didn't blog tonight, but Janae said I couldn't miss TWO days in a row. Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? 😁

Yesterday was a beautiful morning, but it was chilly! We are having about 30 degree swings in temperature each day, so it's been around 50 when we wake up and then 80 in the late afternoon! I always put on jeans and a sweatshirt when we take the kids to school. I'm almost to the point where I have to take blankie with me! 😂

By around 11 I'm sweating and in shirts and a tank top though. I'm not used to this huge change in temperature, so yesterday when I went to Sevierville, I left in a flannel shirt, jeans and my fuzzy slipper shoes. Boy was I regretting that outfit choice come 11! My air in my van isn't the greatest and I was sweating! It was a big wasted trip too, because I didn't find a thing I was looking for. We have ZERO storage at our house, so we are looking for a nice storage cabinet to put inside the front door. There aren't very many furniture stores around here, so it looks like we are going to have to make a trip to Knoxville soon.

The sky was as gorgeous as ever after school. Talan stayed for running club. I am really proud of him for sticking with it. He is enjoying it and was disappointed to tell me that it was cancelled for Thursday.

Easton had a late game, so Janae and I went for a walk around the park. They have a really nice paved path.

This was the worst game the Cubbies have had yet. We were down 2-6 going into the fifth inning. The parents on the other team were trash talking the entire time and were very rude. No one on our team said a word. It was great! I think they got too cocky, because by some miracle, the Cubs came back and won 7-6! They are still undefeated and are season champs, even with 3 games left. Unfortunately, we have to play this team again. I think I might sit on the other side of the dugout next time!

This morning I was really hoping for a delay because I stayed up too late watching the VP debate and then the analysis of it afterwards. No such luck though. I actually don't even know why it would matter, because I never check to see if there is a delay. We would be at school before we found out! Haha Once we start getting some snow and ice though, you can bet I'll be checking! 😁

Before I left Indiana, my besties Steph and Erin bought me a journaling Bible. I have been reading it, but I've been scared to start journaling in it for fear of messing it up. I've started watching some videos though, and I think I've worked up the courage to start. I went to town today to get some supplies and then I came home and got to work. I saw the idea to start by doing a card that you tape into your Bible until you get comfortable enough with your techniques to work directly in your Bible, so I did just that.

I started with a plan piece of cardstock and scraped acrylic paint all over both sides. Then I doodled on it with markers and added some stickers. That was all there was to it! After it was finished, I used Washi tape to attach it to the page of the verse. Easy peasy and I didn't ruin a thing! I am so excited to start this new method of digging deeper into God's word while incorporating my favorite hobby!

After school we got to go home and STAY home. No games, no practices, NOTHING! I guess Brett and Janae did go and get a load of boxes from the storage unit, but that was it!

The kids got their 6-week report cards and I am happy to report that they all got all As! I know they are all capable of that, but I was a little nervous since they're at a new school. I know I worry WAY too much about their grades. I'm trying to work on that!

I spent the evening trying to put things away and organize my scrapbook area. It sure is difficult without having my table! It is scheduled to be delivered October 11th, over two months after I ordered it! I am beyond excited though so I'm not going to complain anymore. 😁

Talan worked on painting his scarecrow. He got one entire coat on it before running out of paint. It's looking really cute though!

Turning in early tonight to make up for last night! 😊
