A Day Away

Last night we had decided we were going hiking in the morning, but Janae was going to stay home. When morning came, I decided I wanted to stay home and finish my book. Janae didn't know I was home, and she sent me a picture, along with the message "This is what I woke up to this morning."
Fast asleep on the kitchen table! Ugh! Those cats are going to be the death of me! I'm assuming she thought we were all gone and that  she was free to do what she wanted for a few hours. And here we thought we had them trained to stay downstairs!

The boys had a great time on their hike. They went to Greenbrier, which is right down the road from us. They saw Easton's teacher, Mr. Capps, on the trail. He said how good Easton is in class. I guess he saves all of his orneriness for home!

After lunch, we went to Dollywood. It was busy, especially for a Sunday.

They have it decorated really nicely for the fall. This tree was real pumpkins and gourds!

Talan only has a few rides left to check off of his list and then he will have ridden every ride in the park. This is the Barnstormer, a huge swing. I have done it once, and that was enough. My stomach cannot handle that motion!

Now he only has the ferris wheel left to ride. He asked me if he could just count the one he had ridden at Turtle Days. Haha Nope!

We waited while Brett and Easton rode the Tennessee Tornado. I can't ride this one anymore either! It is so jerky and I get an instant migraine. Man am I getting old! 😂

I was only able to catch a picture of Brett waving from the car. 😁

A few of our favorite rides were closed, one for maintenance and one for wasps, so we didn't stay too long. We went to Tanger because the boys are in dire need of long pants. It's getting too cold for shorts most days, and last year's pants are too short. Easton was worn out from all of the walking today and ended up a monkey on Brett's back. 😂

This may have been our first shopping trip where everyone got something but me!

Tonight Easton has practice from 6-8 and then they are having a cookout. None of us are really looking forward to that on a school night! The coach originally sent a text saying just hot dogs and chips, but then everyone starting replying that they were bringing something and it ended up being this huge affair. Not our thing on a Sunday night but hopefully we will survive! 😁
