Fall in the Smokies

Brett and I had a somewhat stressful time getting home on Wednesday. The resort had scheduled everyone's shuttle to the airport, ours being at 12:30. However, our flight was boarding at 1:45, so we thought that was pushing it a little close! We went to the front desk as soon as Brett's meetings were over at 11:00. Unfortunately, they were not able to get us on a shuttle until noon. Sooooo... I was a bit frustrated. Lucky for me, Brett is the calm to my storm and, although it was a bit rushed, we made our flight just fine.

Once we landed in Charlotte, we had to run to the other end of the airport to catch our connecting flight. Good thing we're both pretty fast. We made it just in time! Our night flight was gorgeous. The sky was clear and we could see the lights below us the whole 30 minutes of the flight.

We were very excited to finally get back to Tennessee!

The next morning, we appreciated our beautiful mountains so much more, after seeing the brown Arizona mountains. 😁

I was pretty much worthless on Thursday and slept until 11:00 after we took the kids to school! Look how much the trees have changed in just a few days! Gorgeous!!!

I spied my little Eastie in red going in from recess. Oh how I love seeing him with a smile on his face at school. That is one of the things I loved most about working at the school... Seeing my kids throughout the day!

Janae had to work a candy booth for Beta Club at the park trick or treat, so we had to hurry up and get costumes on after school. The boys had said for weeks that they would just be baseball or football players, so no need to buy costumes. Of course, on Thursday morning they complained and wanted costumes. I headed to Family Dollar in search of something... Anything! I hit the jackpot. Costumes were buy one get one 50% off. That made each costume $3.75. Score! Were they going to win any awards? No. But the boys were excited and loved them, so that's all that matters! Easton was an army guy. He wore his skeleton jammies underneath. 😂 I did his face paint for him. He started out looking like a mime.

But each step looked better and better!

Talan was a ninja. He had great moves. 😂

Easton's final look...

These two crack me up. I don't know how, but none of us managed to get a picture of Janae's in her cute super girl costume! We are going to Trunk or Treat at church on Sunday, so I will make sure to get photos of her then!

This event was for three schools. Pittman Center had the most participation for the chicken dance and won the traveling trophy.

My boys, however, did not want to participate in the chicken dance. Mom and I weren't shy though! 😂 Once Easton saw we were doing it, he joined in.

Talan was just an angry ninja. 😁

It was a beautiful evening. It doesn't really matter where we go. There always seems to be a beautiful backdrop for our pictures!

The boys participated in the costume contest. No awards were won, but they didn't even care. They saw some friends and had a great time. 😊

Friday morning at school was foggy. It looks kind of spooky, but beautiful at the same time!

My parents, grandma and I spent the day driving to Cades Cove. It wasn't too busy, but busy enough. 😁 The sights were breathtaking though. We had a great time.

Since I didn't make it home to pick up the kids, my sweet hubby sent me this after-school photo. He knows that I have to get a picture every time I'm at the school! 😍

The guys all wanted to stay home and watch the Cubs game, so us ladies went to The Island for the evening. It was a warm and beautiful night and we really enjoyed ourselves. Janae is still obsessed with wanting readers. She found these little tiny grandma readers. She looks hilarious! 😂

This afternoon my parents are taking us all to the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show. We are all looking forward to it and starving ourselves until then. 😁 It should be a great time!
